Swedish Bread
| Milk |
2 cups |
| Butter |
1 stick |
| Sugar |
1 cup |
| Salt |
1 1/2 tsp |
| Cardamom |
1 1/2 tsp |
| Eggs |
2 each |
| Warm Water |
1/2 cup |
| Yeast |
1 package |
| Flour |
8 cups |
Directions
1. Scold milk with butter
2. Add sugar, salt, and cardamom. Let cool.
3. In a large bowl, add the water and yeast. Let it sit and dissolve, then add the milk and eggs, 2 cups at a time add the flour, mixing well between.
4. Knead the dough for 10 minutes or use a KitchenAid mixer and mix everything together for 7 minutes. (Leave dough to rise for about 30 minutes or until it doubles in size).
5. Remove from bowl onto a floured board. Knead alittle bit again then cut into 4 pieces. Divide each piece into 3 pieces Each rolled into long rope 7.Braid Each loaf fits in 8 inch loaf pan.
8. Bake at 325°F for 35 min.
